The drive over from Banff to Jasper was one of the most fabulous ever. Around every corner was something different and even more breath taking than before. North of Lake Louise you get on Hwy 93 also known as the Icefields Parkway and the fun begins. It is Canada's most scenic mountain roadway and just driving it is an attraction in itself. There are so many pull offs you would never make it to Jasper if you stopped at each one. We stopped at several pullovers and then got to the Columbia Icefield where you can actually walk on the Athabasca Glacier if you go on a tour. The views from the area are some of the most fabulous I have ever seen. This is one of the largest accumulations of ice and snow south of the Artic Circle.
We continued on to the Athabasca Falls which is one of the most powerful and breathtaking falls in the Rocky Mountains. We even took Sandy and Oreo to see this waterfall, of course they were a big hit with the other visitors:)) Please remember David in your prayers as he is on a mission in Iraq. God Bless all our men and women serving in the Armed Services.
