The road takes you by Munco Lake which is 7.5 miles long and is one of the largest lakes in the Canadian Rockies. The blue color is really beautiful and can not be captured by my photography:) We also stopped and had the best cinnamon bun ever. Stop at the Testa River Outfitters and send me a cinnamon bun, PLEASE! They are to die for:)) Moving on to Dawson Creek and on to our last major destination in BC, Vancouver.

Alaskan Highway to Ft. Nelson
The road was being repaired in several spots but the delays did not make the drive uneventful. This was probably, no it was the best day we have had in seeing animals. We saw at least 8 black bears, buffalo, mountain sheep and a baby moose. Other people who saw the bears thought they were about 2 years old or so. We did not see a mother bear along the highway. The sheep can really blend in with the mountains and if you aren't really looking you can miss them. The baby moose looked a little scared and someone told us they saw his mother lying dead by the road. Let's hope he survives!! It was great to see so many animals in the wild.
