We washed the truck so we decided to at least rinse off the camper. It was very dirty and now looks much better but got us started a little later than usual. Near the Teslin River area there is a great place to get the best cinnanmon buns ever. We had stopped there on our way up the Alaskan Highway and were not going to miss the opportunity to have another mouth watering cinnamon bun. We decided to split one and get 2 to go for later. They are really yummy!! The Teslin River has a neat bridge and you can get some fabulous views just down the road at a pullover. We hadn't seen any bears in a while when we came upon a black bear and her 2 cubs. They were close to the road until they got tired of everyone stopping and moved into the woods. It never gets old to see animals on our travels. We got to Watson Lake town of the Sign Post. We changed campgrounds from where we stayed going up and just wish we had stayed here before. Campground Services is a nice campground with grass and plenty of open space, with great wifi. I started talking to this bicyclist, who also takes along a dog on a cart pulled behind the bike and is going to Argentina. He also played football with my Nephew in Birmingham, Alabama. Besides being a extreme bicyclist he had just finished climbing Mt. McKinley and was on the mountain when we visited Talkeetna in early July. It really takes someone special to do that feat. What a small world!!
We visited the sign forest and then went across the street to the Northern Lights Center to see the show of the lights. It was a nice show and even had a section on Mars. We heard we may be able to see the Northern Lights around 2 am. So Suzanne is getting up to look and if she sees something I will climb out of the warm bed:)) Isn't life Grand???
On to Fort Nelson tomorrow.
