Happy Mothers Day! The weather was suppose to turn rainy and cold today. When we got up the weather had not turned bad so we decided to take a trip around Bear Lake. The drive around the lake gives you a lot of different views. There are many camping and picnic areas on the east side of the lake that were completely empty this time of year. The weather I am sure has something to do with the lack of people and campers. We saw a house in the shape of a shoe, “The Old Woman that lived in a shoe, had so many children she didn't know what to do”. A pretty cool house:) On the ride, we entered the state of Idaho, a first for Suzanne and I. We decided to visit the town of Montpelier, Idaho and had to got through several small towns with populations of 100 to 300. One of the towns was Paris, Idaho, yes we visited Paris again, that had a Temple built in 1888. It is amazing how they could build such a beautiful Temple with limited tools. They even brought building materials across a frozen Bear Lake to build this Temple. Suzanne and I have really enjoyed the Temples in Utah. There is a tale circulating, regarding a large, serpent-like creature lurking in the waters of Bear Lake. There have been continued sightings of the Bear Lake Monster and no one has proven its existence or non-existence. I have been keeping one eye peeled at the lake, looking for this monster!! The dogs are also on stand-by looking for the monster and watching the cows across the road.
We are leaving Wednesday for Lander, Wyoming. Hopefully the weather will improve as we have had three days of rain and cold.
Please remember David in your prayers.
