We made it to Bear Lake State Park in Garden City, Utah. We went up and down some very, very steep highways. But thank you Allison transmission and Duramax for making the BEST braking system. Going down the 7% grade all you do is tap the brakes and the engine and transmission do the rest. It really is a working wonder to me. We have the park almost to ourselves and lots of room and grass to walk the dogs. There are cows right across the street and probably a hundred little calves. They look at us but won't let us near them. The park is in a little town of 300 people. But during the summer there are 30,000 people on the weekends visiting the bright blue waters of Bear Lake. There is only one two lane road and I can only imagine the traffic jams. They only have 2 gas stations, two markets for food and 6 or 7 restaurants. We met a local and he said there are 10,000 vacation homes in the area. I will write more about the monster in Bear Lake as I am still shook up by this! I will also post about our trip over the scenic highway to Logan, Utah. All I can say is lots and lots of Snow!!
