Jemez Mountain National Scenic Byway continued

We continued on down the road and saw the Red Rocks the brightest looking red rocks I have ever seen. Then we had lunch in Jemez Springs, which was selected as the smallest ever All-American city in 1995 and visited the Jemez State Monument which has ruins of an ancient pueblo of the Jemez people known as Giusewa. We went on to Soda Dam, a really neat waterfall and formation of rocks and then on to a formation of volcanic ash that looks like a battleship, the reason it is called, Battleship rock. We ended our visit to the area with a hike to Spence Hot Springs were I put my feet in the nice warm mineral spring. It was another day of  "it doesn't get any better than this". God Bless our troops!!
