Visiting Sandia Crest in the Sandia Mountains, just outside Albuquerque

Suzanne and I went to Sandia Crest today 4/5 with an elevation of 10,678 feet. The drive was really nice and it was a drive that made me look twice as I saw snow on the side of the mountain. Nobody told us that we would see SNOW!! We went to the top and you could see all of Albuquerque. It was a fantastic view with snow on the mountains below. We were going to take the hike to the Tramway a 1.5 mile trail but after half a mile the snow became deep and the trail slick. We made a good decision and decide to turn back. I think it was a smart move. We also went to Madrid and old mining town that was closed in the 1950's and is now a town of galleries and quality shops of jewelry and other items native to the area. It was great day as we continue our travels!!
